Passionate division reveals a heart that is often driven by self-interest, control, jealousy, or a desire for power rather than a heart fully committed to God's kingdom. In the sermon, Pastor Jason highlights how such passions can lead believers to become divisive, fighting over preferences, positions, or control rather than uniting in Christ’s mission ([25:44]). When passions are rooted in ego or personal agendas, they tend to cause us to attack others, reject differing viewpoints, and turn away from humility and unity ([29:42]).

Furthermore, passionate division exposes a heart that may prioritize personal or denominational identity over God's greater purpose. Jesus warns against this by emphasizing that His kingdom is about unity—"the one who is not against us is for us" ([30:22])—and that division harms the vulnerable in faith, especially those easily influenced ([38:48]). Such division reveals a heart that is more concerned with control, status, or winning than with humility, love, and the true mission of Christ ([28:39]).

Ultimately, passionate division shows that the heart may be misaligned with God's passion for unity, humility, and love. Jesus’s call is to redirect our passions toward His kingdom, where unity and humility reign, and to guard our hearts from the destructive tendencies of ego and selfishness ([31:51]). When our hearts are truly aligned with Christ, our passions will lead us to build up, serve, and celebrate God's work everywhere, rather than tearing others down or dividing His body ([32:24]).
